Here are the latest Newcastle United evening headlines on Thursday, June 30.
Ketsbaia appointed Cyprus manager
Toon cult hero Temur Ketsbaia has been appointed the manager of the Cyprus national team. It is the second international role the 54-year-old has taken in his coaching career after he managed his native Georgia between 2009 and 2014.
The opportunity to take the top job in Cyprus comes on the back of the domestic success he has enjoyed over the last few years in the Mediterranean nation. Ketsbaia’s contract will see him through the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign where he will be hoping he has done enough to earn an extension.
Joelinton makes Neymar plea as his future remains unclear
There has already been plenty of change at PSG this summer and the plans of the new management for superstar Neymar remain unclear. There have been lots of rumours that suggest he might be on his way out of the French capital and, as with most players, links to Newcastle haven’t been far away.

While extremely unlikely, should he join United, he would be linking up with his compatriots Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton on Tyneside. The latter admitted that he is a huge fan of Neymar and would love to play alongside him at St James’ Park.
Speaking to CAST FC, Joelinton said: “We can get him a spot. Sure! In any team in the world. If he comes...it will be...I can't explain it. The man is an idol. Is huge in world soccer. So the invitation is done. Ney, if you are listening to this, you can come! I'll run to you all the time.”

Tottenham starlet to join Newcastle
Jordan Hackett will join United from Tottenham tomorrow when he is officially released from his contract in North London. The 18-year-old had a trial with the Magpies back in May and impressed to the point where those in charge of the club’s youth teams tabled a proposal.
He will link up with the development squad upon arrival in the North-east where he will be desperate to make a mark that will hopefully lead to an eventual first-team breakthrough. The left-back is yet another player who has been targeted with the future of the club in mind and will likely be joined by plenty of other promising youngsters this summer.
