Anderson injury
Newcastle United youngster Elliot Anderson remains touch and go for next Saturday's trip to Fulham.
The playmaker was withdrawn from Scotland's Under-21' double header with Northern Ireland this week and the Magpies are monitoring the 19-year-old closely for next weekend. Anderson did not even appear on the subs bench in the 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth.
It is understood that Anderson has a grade one hamstring injury which usually takes three weeks to recover from depending on the severity of the strain. Despite the international break, the two week gap in Premier League fixtures has been a busy period for Newcastle's medical team.

January
Newcastle United chiefs are already plotting their January moves in the hope they won't be left behind when the winter market rolls around. The Magpies added four summer additions, with Eddie Howe strengthening his defence and bringing in marquee addition Alexander Isak at the other end of the pitch.
However, Newcastle were still trying to get deals done in the final hours of the window after finding the business end of the summer a frustrating one. Howe admitted his team were working right up until the final hours of the window, with other Premier League sides unwilling to do business late on.
Newcastle know the January window will provide even more problems and have already made a start identifying key targets they may be able to secure during the season.

Bruno on Joelinton
Bruno Guimaraes has joked how “brother” Joelinton initially blanked him when he first joined the club. Newcastle United shelled out £35million to lure the Brazilian away from Lyon in January - the standout addition from a busy winter window.
Compatriot Joelinton, whose own resurgence on Tyneside runs parallel to Guimaraes’ Newcastle career, is his closest friend at the club. The Brazilian duo are two of the first names on Eddie Howe’s team sheet, with hundreds of green and yellow flags on display around the ground.
However, Joelinton accidentally shunned his team-mate when he first joined the club. Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, Guimaraes revealed how he was left hanging after sending a message on social media.
“It took him (Joelinton) three days to reply to me!” Guimaraes quipped. “I still joke with him about that. He apologised and said he didn’t check his account very often, so he hadn’t noticed it.”

Front three prospects
Let me take you back to spring 2012. Despite fears ahead of the campaign, Newcastle United are joint fifth after 30 games - and breathing down the necks of the Champions League positions.
A summer exodus eight months earlier saw stalwarts Kevin Nolan, Jose Enrique and Joey Barton shipped out. Graham Carr had utilised the bargain basement for replacements, with Yohan Cabaye, Davide Santon and Demba Ba producing the goods.
Papiss Cisse bolstered the squad further in January and, by this point, was revelling in one of the finest goalscoring runs Tyneside has ever seen. For what it is worth, Belgian singer Gotye was also enjoying his status as a one-hit wonder with Somebody That I Used To Know - the UK number one for four weeks.
