Newcastle United are believed to be on Chelsea's list of potential destinations for Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer.
Chronicle Live understands that United have confirmed their interest in the England international but will face stiff competition from a clutch of clubs for the right-winger. It is believed that the likes of Leicester City, Southampton and clubs in Europe are keen on his services.
The 21-year-old was heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund this summer but Thomas Tuchel wanted to look at the player in pre-season. Hudson-Odoi was withdrawn from Chelsea's reserves for a game against Fulham later.
Ideally Chelsea are looking for a Premier League club to offer him a season long loan deal. He has two years left on his current deal with the FIFA World Club champions Chelsea.
Eddie Howe is keen on a right-winger and has already hinted that he could use the Premier League loan market to his advantage. But Newcastle may have to wait for Chelsea and Hudson-Odoi's final decision on his next stop.
Hudson-Odoi suffered achilles tendon damage last season and missed the second half of the season. When asked about the winger's future, Thomas Tuchel said at the weekend: "It depends on what the player wants, how bad the players wants it, what we think, who is ready to pay a certain amount of money."
Hudson-Odoi will need assurances of first-team football with over 100 appearances in his locker for Chelsea and 16 first-team goals in all competitions. The Wandsworth-born player made his England debut in a 5-0 win over the Czech Republic at Wembley in a Euro 2020 qualifier three years ago.
