Newcastle United loanee Karl Darlow wins Hull City Player of the Month award

Newcastle United loanee Karl Darlow has been handed Hull City's Player of the Month award for March.

Darlow joined Hull from Newcastle on loan during the winter transfer window, after Martin Dubravka's return from Manchester United saw him fall to third-choice in the pecking order.

He had to wait until the end of February to make his debut for the Tigers, but has since gone onto flourish under Liam Rosenior at the MKM Stadium.

The 32-year-old has retained his place between the sticks since his first team bow against Bristol City, and produced a player of the match performance as they defeated West Brom 2-0 on March 3.

Darlow made four appearances in total during March - registering one clean sheet, and conceding five goals in the process. The goalkeeper fended off competition from Lewie Coyle and Benjamin Tetteh for the award by receiving an astonishing 84% of the votes.
