Newcastle United loan watch as Ciaran Clark adds cherry on top of huge Sheffield United win

Newcastle United loanee centre-back Ciaran Clark was there to add the cherry on top of Sheffield United's 4-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.

The 33-year-old headed in from close range off of an 85th-minute corner to give the Blades their fourth after goals from James McAtee, Jack Robinson and Iliman Ndiaye.

The result sees Paul Heckingbottom's side take a huge leap towards securing promotion back up to the Premier League with the likes of Luton Town and Middlesbrough still breathing down their necks.

Karl Darlow kept his third clean sheet in four games for Championship side Hull City as they took a point away from home against playoff-chasing Blackburn Rovers in a 0-0 draw.

Reading midfielder Jeff Hendrick played the full 90 minutes against already-promoted Burnley in a 0-0 draw over the weekend, a result which meant Vincent Kompany's side are now mathematically unable to break Reading's record amount of 106 points in a season.

January window signing Garang Kuol was once again an unused substitute on the bench for Hearts for the fourth match in a row as they lost 1-0 to fierce rivals Hibernian.

Isaac Hayden was also an unused sub on the bench for Norwich as they were thrashed 5-1 by promotion-chasing Boro, while Chris Wood is still suffering a hamstring injury during his loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

Kelland Watts was again left out of the matchday squad for Peterborough as they lost 2-0 to Cambridge United in League One, a result which saw them slip to sixth behind Bolton Wanderers.
