Krafth and Gillespie OUT
Emil Krafth and Mark Gillespie have failed to make Eddie Howe’s 25-man Premier League squad. The Swede suffered a severe knee injury against Tranmere Rovers last month while Gillespie, the fourth-choice goalkeeper, is surplus to requirements.

Toon wanted O’Riley
Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley confirmed Newcastle and Leicester City wanted him last summer. Despite only joining the Hoops in January, the former MK Dons midfielder was linked with a Premier League move.

O’Riley is impressing at the Glasgow giants and has started every game so far this season. A recent switch of international allegiance saw the 21-year-old called up to the Denmark U21 squad in March.
Speaking to Danish media ahead of Celtic’s Champions League trip to Shakhtar Donetsk, O'Reilly revealed the Magpies were interested in his services. He said: “I know that Leicester showed a lot of interest in me and I think Newcastle were there too.
“But it didn’t matter that any of them made an offer. If there is no offer, then it is not very concrete in my head.”
‘Beautiful memories’ - Dubravka
Martin Dubravka has spoken fondly of his time on Tyneside to Slovakian outlet Sport. Eddie Howe allowed the former number one to depart for Manchester United on loan a fortnight ago.
The 33-year-old had been essential in keeping Newcastle in the Premier League in recent seasons but lost his starting berth following Nick Pope’s arrival. Howe conceded he did not want Dubravka to leave but could not promise regular first-team football.
Dislodging David De Gea at Old Trafford is no small feat, either. However, the Slovak insists he will always carry “wonderful” memories of Newcastle.
“We spent almost five beautiful years in Newcastle,” Dubravka said. “But from a sporting point of view, it was often very difficult as we mostly played for survival.
“We didn’t have the opportunity to think about competing in the higher ranks, even though it turned out to be quite interesting in the end. But I have wonderful memories of Newcastle.”
