Just one win from 12 games leaves the Baggies 22nd in the Championship - two points adrift from safety. Bruce took charge at the Hawthorns in February and, since then, has attained a 26% win percentage.
Bookmakers made him the firm favourite to be the next manager sacked after West Brom’s 1-0 defeat to Preston in midweek. The result came just days after Bruce’s side surrendered a lead to lose 3-2 to Swansea on home soil.

Newcastle United celebrated their one-year takeover anniversary in true style with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Brentford.
On a day in which number 9 Callum Wilson got through the game without scoring his team-mates showed their clinical side as they made the Bees pay for some awful defending.
A sparkling performance from Bruno Guimaraes set Newcastle on their way to another three points as they made it back to back wins and NINE goals in two games. Eddie Howe won't get carried away by this of course - but the Magpies nudged their way into a Europa League slot after a great afternoon at St James' Park.

Alan Shearer has hailed Newcastle United playmaker Bruno Guimaraes as 'Different class' after his brace against Brentford. The Brazilian was a standout performer as Eddie Howe's side consolidated their European berth with a controlled display against Thomas Frank's side.
Guimaraes' goal gave the Magpies the lead - after Brentford saw a goal ruled out for offside - capping off a brilliant set piece straight from the training ground. Jacob Murphy added a second for Howe's side moments later, Callum Wilson capitalised on a loose ball outfield and unselfishly squared for the winger to finish into an empty net.
Ivan Toney's second-half penalty reduced the deficit but only for a matter of seconds as Guimaraes doubled his tally for the afternoon. The Brazilian controlled the game from the outset and was fully deserving of any praise.
Wor Flags' display against Brentford celebrates the Newcastle United takeover
Wor Flags' biggest display yet has celebrated the anniversary of the sale of Newcastle United to Amanda Staveley, Jamie Reuben and Public Investment Fund. The group turned St James' Park into a sea of flags prior to the game against Brentford.
In the Gallowgate, there was a giant television with images capturing the day of the takeover - including the front page of The Chronicle from October 8th which simply read 'sold.' There was also a flag of Staveley and her statement when she told reporters waiting outside her hotel the deal was 'done', as well as pictures of fans celebrating outside of St James' Park on the day.
There was also a tweet from Staveley's husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi from the day where he posted 'cans,' a phrase now famous with fans. Simon Jordan also got a mention with his infamous 'deader than a dead thing from dead land' declaration on the takeover.

Eddie Howe has delivered his verdict after Newcastle United's sparkling 5-1 win over Brentford.
Howe was happy that his side bounced back from a slow start with the Magpies showing their class as the game went on.
Looking back on the fantastic victory against the Bees, Howe said: "We were pleased with today. It as a really tough game and we knew they would make it difficult for us. We had a slow start but responded to that with the first goal and that changed it for us."

Newcastle United have moved up to sixth place in the table following a superb 5-1 win against Brentford at St James' Park.
Bruno Guimaraes headed Newcastle in front midway through the first half before Jacob Murphy made it 2-0 with a tap-in just a few minutes later. Although Ivan Toney pulled one back for Brentford from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, Bruno restored his side's two-goal advantage soon after with a drilled effort from distance. Miguel Almiron scored a fourth late on after rounding Brentford goalkeeper David Raya before Ethan Pinnock put through his own net in the 90th minute.

Bruno Guimaraes described his man of the match display against Brentford as one of the "best days of his life" after netting twice in the 5-1 win at St James' Park.
The Brazil international was afforded a standing ovation against the Bees with the sparkling display coming in front of his watching family who had travelled over from Rio de Janeiro.
United climbed to fifth in the table after the resounding victory on Tyneside and Bruno was delighted with the outcome.
