Jamie Reuben's response to 'dream sponsor' question with Newcastle announcement due after kit 'leak'
Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has namechecked both Adidas and Nike as potential 'dream' sponsors as supporters eagerly await the official unveiling on next season's home strip.
Asked for his 'dream sponsor' for Newcastle, Reuben told the Business of Sport podcast: "Look, we're grateful for the support we've had from Castore. I think Nike and Adidas are all great people we would love to be associated with. I think Nike is a big business, but there are others.
"We share a friend, Michael Rubin, Fanatics are an amazing business and what he's doing there is amazing as well. They are really changing merchandise for American sports, and actually I think that approach to European sports could be exciting too.
"So we don't quite know where we're going with it, but there are some really exciting names out there."

Newcastle's stance on Declan Rice as supporters' 'dream' signing set to leave West Ham for hefty fee
Declan Rice's West Ham United exit was confirmed on Thursday, a mere few hours after he lifted the Europa Conference League trophy with the east London outfit in Prague. The offers will now begin flooding in as the Premier League's most coveted midfielder chooses his next destination.
Newcastle United, given their new-found wealth and stature, have been tentatively linked with a move for Rice ever since his fine performance in the 1-1 draw at St James' Park back in February. For many of the Geordie faithful, he would be the dream summer signing - even if it meant blowing the bulk, if not all, of Eddie Howe's current budget.
But Howe knows he can attract top players to Tyneside these days and admitted he wanted elite additions when quizzed personally on Rice back in February. "I think we will always try to gauge it on every situation,” said United’s head coach.
“Our strategy last summer was to try and find quality players for the positions that we needed, not to bring in a host of players who don’t necessarily improve our starting XI or squad. I don’t think our strategy will change. We want elite players, because we have an elite squad. If we do add anyone in, they have to be better than the players we have.”

Tyler Adams could offer Newcastle United an important building block in Champions League project
Leeds United captain Tyler Adams is on the radar of Newcastle United as the club looks to make the most of the summer budget ahead of next season which will see Eddie Howe and his squad having to fight on four fronts.
With Newcastle in the Champions League, the need to add depth to the squad whilst also wrestling with a budget restricted by financial fair play will see the club's transfer team look at players not necessarily playing for a top team. As reported in the Telegraph, Adams fits that bill and would come in for a significantly lesser fee than RB Leipzig Dominik Szoboszlai.
Leeds United, following relegation to the Championship, are in turmoil with owner Andrea Radrizzani facing backlash from fans after offering up Elland Road against a loan to help him purchase Italian club Sampdoria. A proposed takeover of Leeds from American group the 49ers is believed to be close but there is an expectation that several of the West Yorkshire side's star players will leave this summer.
Whilst the more attacking players such as Jack Harrison and Willy Gnonto have grabbed the headlines with rumored exits - Tyler Adams's exploits have gone slightly under the radar. Indeed many close to Leeds believe the American international's injury was a major turning point in the club's fight for survival.
