Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe led his team to a superb 4-1 win on the South Coast against Southampton as the Magpies strengthened their grip on a Champions League place.
United extended their unbeaten run to NINE matches against the Saints thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron, Chris Wood, Joe Willock and Bruno Guimaraes.
Howe led his side to a 2-1 win over the Saints last season when Bruno Guimaraes scored a sensational back-heeled winner but this was even more special as the goals flowed in front of 3,200 travelling supporters.
Here's how Lee Ryder rated the players
Nick Pope 8
A fine save low down early in the game to deny Romain Perraud. Will be frustrated with Southampton's late goal but that's the standard being set by the Magpies these days. .
Kieran Trippier 9
Relentless pressure down the right and some polished defensive work. A sumptuous assist for Willock after the break with a defence splitting fans will be purring over for the rest of the weekend.
Fabian Schar 8
Rock solid after he cleared time after time. When Pope miscalculated a claim in the box in the first half he was there to sweep up.
Sven Botman 8
Some last ditch but effective defensive work frustrated the Saints frontline.
Dan Burn 8
Put his heart into this one. A fine display with seven clearances.
Joe Willock 8
Some excellent runs down the left side. And added a goal to his game. Great stuff.
Sean Longstaff 8
A big hand in the goal after helping it on for Wilson before Almiron scored. A very good shift.
Bruno Guimaraes 9
Making things tick in midfield. Passed it for fun before putting icing on cake with excellent goal
Miguel Almiron 9
Newcastle's most dangerous moments have came from the playmaker. One penalty shout, a blocked shot and then a wonderful drive into the box to put his team ahead. Man of the match.
Jacob Murphy 8
One early cross and worked hard before adding an assist to set up Willock to a good display.
Callum Wilson 7
An important moment for the goal. Replaced at half-time as a precaution.
Subs
Chris Wood 8 (for Wilson 46)
One chance one goal. Can't argue really.
Jonjo Shelvey 7 (for Murphy 63)
A useful half an hour run out.
Allan Saint-Maximin 6 (for Willock 71)
Not at his best yet. But will benefit from the minutes.
Elliot Anderson (for Almiron 80)
Javier Manquillo (for Trippier 80)
