Newcastle United fans react to kit 'leak' as 2023/24 shirt design surfaces amid adidas links

Newcastle United fans appear sceptical over a supposed ‘leaked’ image of the club’s new home kit for the 2023/24 season.

An image showing the kit, which is a white shirt with black stripes and sports a central sponsorship logo of Saudi Arabian airline Saudia, has been circulating across social media over the past couple of days.

Current kit manufacturer Castore are set to once again produce the Magpies’ kit for next season, amid rumours that the club will switch to Adidas starting from the 2024/25 campaign.

Given the link to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, airline Saudia would appear to be an easy suggestion to make, but the choice of sponsor is yet to be officially revealed with the club currently in discussions with potential replacements for previous shirt-bearers FUN88.

The image also suggests that the shirt will not feature stripes as part of the sleeves, with an all-white approach being taken instead of the more traditional look - a decision which seems would split the St James Park faithful.

‘If that’s true I like that a lot’ - @Markstjamespark

‘Far too much white, let’s hope it’s a fake…’ - @SimonWouldhave
