Newcastle United fan ends up on This Morning after dog eats Wembley tickets

A Newcastle United fan became a hot topic on Tuesday's This Morning for putting his dog up for sale, after disaster struck and it ate his tickets for this weekend's Carabao Cup final.

There was delight right across the city right at the start of this month when the Magpies earned their first trip to Wembley in 24 first years, following an aggregate win over Southampton in the semi final. As soon as the final whistle blew on the second leg at St James' Park, the ticket panic started for United fans, who were left fearing they wouldn't get to be there to see Eddie Howe's men takes on Manchester United.

All tickets have now been allocated, with many disappointed supporters missing out, as others get set to head to London in a few days time to cheer on their team at Wembley.

Alan Carling was one of the lucky fans who managed to get tickets for the game, however things took a turn when he arrived home from seeing Newcastle beaten at home by Liverpool on Saturday night, to find that his dog Rudy had chewed the tickets after their came through the letterbox earlier that day.

Explaining what happened and saying he was 'selling' Rudy, Alan wrote: "This is my dog Rudy. Rudy is a little b****** of a pup and thinks letters through the post are an invasion of his home.

"After coming back from watching Newcastle lose at home for the first time this season against Liverpool, conceding two goals and having the keeper sent off in the first half...Rudy thought he would give me a laugh by eating the Wembley tickets that were posted whilst I was out. Dog for sale, £5 o.n.o"

Rudy's actions led to Alan being discussed as a news story on Tuesday's This Morning and as a photo of how the tickets looked now, with the QR code still intact, Holly Willoughby remarked: "Oh Alan, you're fine! Just take those," as Phillip added: "The business end of those tickets should still be OK right?"
