Eddie Howe will be without right-back Emil Krafth for the foreseeable future after the right-back took to Instagram to confirm that he will miss “several months” of action after suffering a knee injury.
The Swede was stretchered off of the pitch at Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night as the Magpies came from behind to win 2-1.

News has emerged that Newcastle United opted against signing Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta earlier in the transfer window, despite having a free hit at signing the Brazilian.
Paqueta, who now looks likely to join the Magpies’ Premier League rivals West Ham United, was seen as an inferior option to his national teammate Bruno Guimaraes by Eddie Howe and his backroom team, who had eyes on other options.
Exciting Newcastle talent ready for ‘next challenge’
Newcastle U21 midfielder Joe White could depart on loan once again having played in League Two with Hartlepool United last term after manager Elliot Dickman told Chronicle Live the youngster is “ready for that next challenge.”
The 19-year-old signed a contract extension back in March, naming manager Eddie Howe as the main reason, whilst making 16 appearances on loan at Hartlepool in the second half of last season.
