Newcastle United have been handed a boost ahead of the game against Leeds United this afternoon.
This is after Marcelo Bielsa revealed that the Whites will miss three more key first-team players for the game after sustaining fresh injuries which will rule them out of the clash at Elland Road.
Firstly, Patrick Bamford has picked up a foot issue after missing the last six matches with a hamstring injury, while Adam Forshaw and Junior Firpo have muscular problems.
Meanwhile, Tyler Roberts and Joe Gelhardt could return to action for the Whites and give them an extra option in attack, having recovered from injuries they sustained last month.
Bielsa also won't be able to call on the key duo Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips as they are both recovering from longer-term setbacks.
As for the other absentees, they are all more short-term issues, including Sam Greenwood, who sustained an injury in the FA Cup third-round defeat at West Ham.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Bielsa said: "Forshaw and Firpo have muscular injuries. Bamford has a new injury at the bottom of his foot.
"He's overcome his muscular problems but now he has a problem at the bottom of his foot.
"Not with so many players. What is very intriguing or not so much how many injuries, but players that are injured are all players who play in similar positions.
"In some way we've always found solutions, it's likely for the game on the weekend we're going to count on Tyler Roberts and Gelhardt, and Rodrigo Moreno.
"So the players out of the squad in that position are going to be Patrick and Greenwood. Progressively we've been resolving the situations that present themselves.
"And the same, the injuries to Cooper, Koch, Diego Llorente, Pascal, we've been resolving them with the solution of Ayling as centre-back and Koch as a defensive mid when he has been healthy or Forshaw as a defensive mid. But it's also true that all the clubs have problems with counting on their players."
The Magpies will be hoping to secure just their second win of the season after being held to a 1-1 draw against Watford last time out.
Eddie Howe's men could close the gap on 17th-place Norwich City with all three points following the Canaries' success at Vicarage Road on Friday night.
