Clinton Morrison believes Newcastle United cannot be written off in the Premier League title race, after defying the odds so far this season.
The Magpies dropped points for the first time since October in their goalless draw against Leeds United at St James' Park on Saturday.
However, Newcastle sit third in the table after losing just one of their opening 17 league games. Eddie Howe's side have collected eight wins from their last 10 in the Premier League, and are unbeaten in 12. Although Morrison expects Manchester City to pip Arsenal to the post, he insists that it could still be a three-horse race.

The former Crystal Palace forward told Sky Sports News: "You can't ever write Newcastle off. At the start of the season, would we have said that Newcastle would have been in there? No chance!
"Their fans will probably not think they've got a chance. It depends what kind of business they do in January but they'll be disappointed today. Credit to Leeds, they held them at St James' Park.
"But you can't ever write off Newcastle. I always said the Premier League this season would be a strange one because of the World Cup break."
