Newcastle United announce coaching reshuffle as Derek Wright and Simon Smith replaced

Newcastle United have confirmed their new look goalkeeping coaching team following on from the departure of Simon Smith.

Smith was a longstanding member of the United coaching staff but left before pre-season along with physio Derek Wright. Wright has now been replaced by former Charlton physio Danny Murphy who has been on the bench in recent games. Nathan Ring is also coming in as senior physio having previously worked at West Ham and Palace.

United have rubber-stamped the appointment of Adam Bartlett - who had been covering for Smith - and the signing of Shwan Jalal, who worked with Howe at Bournemouth.

Jalal said: "I'm delighted to be joining Newcastle United. I'm excited to work with Adam and to be reunited with Eddie Howe and the coaching team, who I have so much respect for. This is something I've worked hard for. I'm aware of the size of the club and the project ahead, and I can't wait to get going."
