Newcastle United are watching developments carefully at Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel starts to make decisions on his departing loanees.
One player that United were on the list of possible suitors for was Callum Hudson-Odoi but Chronicle Live understands that a season long loan move to Bayer Leverkusen is "edging closer" for the England international winger. That leaves Tuchel with decisions to make on USA star Christian Pulisic, with the Chelsea man unsettled, Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher.
The former Borussia Dortmund star is on £150,000 per week, above Newcastle's wage ceiling, and negotiations on his salary would need to be worked out. And there has been interest from Juventus and Atletico Madrid in the player.

There is intense competition for Pulisic and Gallagher while Tuchel is also weighing up incoming business with Porto's £59million-rated winger Pepe a target and the Chelsea boss keen on a reunion with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Barcelona asking for £17million for the player who left Arsenal for free only in January.
Tuchel's success in the window will depend on him letting Pulisic, Gallagher and Broja leave. Broja has been a target for United throughout the summer and is also wanted by Everton.
But Tuchel has spoken on Broja's future and said: "I don’t expect him to leave. We are aware of interest and offers, which just tells us there is a lot of potential, and the owners and me will take this decision together in the end, also with the player."
Even before Eddie Howe considers new players coming in he must also decide on who goes with the squad currently three players oversubscribed.
