Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Gordon interest revisited
Everton are a club in turmoil, and for a second successive season Frank Lampard's side look to be facing an uphill battle to secure Premier League survival. The latest defeat to fellow strugglers Southampton has left the Toffees in 19th place, level on points with the rock-bottom Saints.
It is a situation which has inevitably raised questions over the future of key players, with Anthony Gordon the subject of intense transfer speculation over the summer. Newcastle and Chelsea were both linked, and it appears the former are set to revisit their interest in the young forward.
That is according to the MailOnline, with the Magpies believing Everton may be willing to cash-in due to the need to bolster the squad and with angry fan protests targeting Gordon as well as a number of his team-mates. The title claims Chelsea and Tottenham have also both made enquiries over the 21-year-old's availability.

Calvert-Lewin claim
Gordon is not the only Everton star seemingly on Newcastle's radar in this mid-season window. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has previously been linked to St James' Park, and the Sun claim Eddie Howe's side could be tempted to make a move for the England international.
Calvert-Lewin has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons, but has now returned from a knee injury to help Lampard's side bid to beat the drop. The 25-year-old has netted one Premier League goal in nine appearances so far this term.
The report claims the Magpies are mulling over a £35 million move for the striker, with Chris Wood's departure opening up a space in the squad. However, Newcastle are said to be prepared to wait until the summer to land their man.
