Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Caicedo interest
Newcastle United have already raided Brighton for Dan Ashworth and Dan Burn, with speculation mounting over a prospective move for Leandro Trossard. The Belgian international has made a fine start to the season, and could be available on a cut-price deal due to his contract status.
Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside claims the Magpies are 'following' Moises Caicedo. The midfielder has shone for the Seagulls since a £4.5 million move from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle in February 2021.

Caicedo is expected to be a man in demand, with Chelsea and Manchester United both linked. However, the report states negotiations have not yet taken place between Newcastle and Brighton, with a winger said to be a priority.
Rabiot claim
Manchester United were said to have been interested in Adrien Rabiot in the summer, with his contract with Juventus set to expire this summer. The midfielder has started three times for France so far in their bid to retain the World Cup, and is expected to feature against England in their quarter-final clash on Saturday.
But despite this form, it appears the Serie A giants are willing to cash-in on Rabiot in January to avoid losing the 27-year-old on a free transfer. A fee in the region of £17 million could be enough to secure a mid-season move for the former PSG star.
That is according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, who claim Newcastle are one of the clubs credited with an interest in Rabiot. The report claims the Magpies are ready to make an approach for the midfielder, with Juventus said to be happy to sanction an early exit.
