Newcastle fans looking to head down to London on the train could be in luck as Trainline's website promises tickets are 'coming soon' for the route on Caraboe Cup final day.
Demand for tickets surged last night following Newcastle’s historic win over Southampton. Many train services from Newcastle to London sold out and ticket prices soared to as much as £75 each way.
However, a number of new services have appeared on timetables on both Trainline and LNER’s websites, indicating that hope might not be lost. An LNER spokesperson said: “Tickets for travel between Newcastle and London King's Cross are selling fast for the weekend of the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley.”

The spokesperson added: “We advise customers to ensure they book a seat reservation for their journeys as we are expecting trains to be very popular across the weekend and Monday. We are exploring what options may be available to support additional fans getting to and from the match.”
Alternatively, fans could choose to travel by coach with National Express or plane with British Airways.
A National Express spokesperson said: "Following the news of Newcastle United’s win against Southampton last night we’re seeing increased demand for coach travel to Wembley Stadium for the Carabao Cup Final. As the official coach partner of Wembley Stadium, we are working hard to put on extra services, providing fans with a convenient, affordable and sustainable way to travel to the game.
They added: "Customers are advised to keep an eye on our website for the latest availability and book early where possible to guarantee a seat for travel. "
The Chronicle has approached Lumo to see if they plan on putting on dedicated services to the final.
Ticket news is expected within the coming days once the final result of the second semi-final between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is decided tonight. It is predicted that Newcastle will be awarded an allocation of around 30,000 seats but it is not yet known how these will be sold.
