Newcastle star Miguel Almiron makes history as he wins award following goal against Leicester

Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron has made history by winning the Paraguayan Footballer of the Year award for the third time in his career.

The 28-year-old has previously won the award in 2017 and 2018 while at Atlanta United in the MLS, but this is his first time receiving the award as a Magpie.

Almiron already has nine goals and an assist across his 16 appearances so far this season and has earned himself the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for October on top.

The caption read: "OFFICIAL: #NUFC’s Miguel Almiron has won @ABCDigital’s Paraguayan Footballer of the Year for 2022, winning it for the third time in his career. (2017, 2018 & 2022)
