Newcastle's Kieran Trippier toasts opening day win with wife Charlotte at city restaurant

Kieran Trippier toasted Newcastle United's opening day win with wife Charlotte as the couple headed out to a restaurant which has become a real favourite with celebrities.

A big name signing from Atletico Madrid earlier this year, Kieran had the captain's arm band as 52,000 fans welcomed Eddie Howe's men back to the St James' Park pitch for the first match of the new Premier League season.

Charlotte was in the stands to capture the amazing atmosphere as the packed ground waited for United and opposition Nottingham Forest to walk out. The score was levelled at 0-0 at half time and, after being very much on top in the first half, the Magpies got their deserved breakthrough when Fabian Schar hit the net with a fine effort.

The win was wrapped up by striker Callum Wilson in the 78th minute, sparking great celebrations at the final whistle as United started their 2022/3 account with three points.

Many Newcastle fans will have headed straight out on the town after the game and skipper Kieran wasn't too far behind them as Charlotte took to Instagram to reveal they were at Geisha, the Asian haunt on Sandyford Road, which as well as being dubbed 'Newcastle's most Instagrammable restaurant,' is no stranger to famous faces.

Love Island stars and Geordie Shore cast members are big fans, with a pregnant Charlotte Crosby enjoying a night on the mocktails there last week.

Charlotte captured her and Kieran's night on her Insta story, having her phone in selfie mode to show her in a plunging pink jumpsuit before showing Kieran on what looked like a Long Island iced tea cocktail.

Charlotte was at St James' Park on Saturday with the couple's children and Kieran's mum. Posting a photo of her and her mother in law on her Instagram grid, Charlotte wrote: "Who enjoyed that then. Me and Mama Tripps loved the first game back."
