Callum Wilson picked up his eighth England cap during the 7-0 win over North Macedonia as the Three Lions stayed on course for the European Championships next summer.
Wilson came on with 17 minutes left hoping to add to his goal in the 4-0 rout of Malta on Friday night. His emergence from the bench came just seconds before John Stones won a penalty.
As the referee pointed to the spot, Wilson turned around to Gareth Southgate to get him on the pitch to take it. But the responsibility went to the man he would soon replace in Harry Kane.

Kane stepped up to score his second of the night on an evening in which Arsenal star Bukayo Saka helped himself to a hat-trick. Man City star Kalvin Phillips and Marcus Rashford added gloss to the scoreline to make it four wins out of four for the Three Lions.
Wilson will now hope to be part of the England squad for next summer's Euros in Germany. He ended the season with 19 goals for club and country and after playing in the World Cup is one of the men Southgate feels he can rely on.
The evening did not see Newcastle captain Kieran Trippier get a run out after he played against Malta and United transfer target James Maddison did not get on the field. Speculation continues over the Leicester man joining the Magpies before the end of the summer window.
