Coach Paul DeVitis hopes consecutive wins are a sign Newcastle Olympic have got their season back on track.
Olympic made a sluggish start to 2022, leaking nine goals in their first two appearances.
But they were 16-1 winners over New Lambton in round three then rose to fourth place on Sunday after downing Adamstown 4-1. They led 4-0 at the break after their front three Georgia Little, Georgia Amess and Keea Parrish all scored.
"We had talked about how important the first half was going to be and it was a really dominant first 45 minutes," DeVitis said.
"It was particularly pleasing that we executed in the top third, which is something we've been working on a lot."
They face their toughest test of the season on Friday night in unbeaten leaders Broadmeadow.
"It was a really good performance leading in to this game and we know against Magic we're going to need to play similar to that first half," DeVitis said.
"Magic, for me, have got the best defence in the competition by a fair bit. Their goalkeeper and back four are very good. They don't concede many goals."
Olympic will be without Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Libby Copus-Brown, who had signed with the club on a short-term basis before heading overseas.
Jade McAtamney, who was relegated to the bench last weekend for the Rosebud clash, is likely to take Copus-Brown's place in the starting side.
