Newcastle United are searching for a commercial partnerships executive as the club look to boost revenues to comply with Financial Fair Play.
CEO Darren Eales has said, himself, that the club need 'increased commercial revenues' to get the 'best team out on the pitch'. Newcastle may be flying in fourth place in the table at the moment, but there is quite a gap for the Magpies to bridge on the top six off the field in that regard.
In fact, Newcastle were so stripped down in the final weeks of the Ashley era that Brentford were miles ahead in terms of numbers with 84 administration and commercial employees. The club's new owners have since sought to give these departments the additional support they have long needed.

Newcastle have already hired a new chief commercial officer, Peter Silverstone, who previously worked at Arsenal, and a new commercial partnerships manager in James Newbigin, who once fulfilled a similar role at Southampton. The club are now on the lookout for a commercial partnerships executive, who will be the first point of contact within the department.
Among the new recruit's responsibilities, according to the job advert, will be to provide 'regular industry updates to the commercial team', including 'reviewing content from other clubs', and offering recommendations to partners. The commercial partnerships executive will also 'aim to retain clients and help secure renewals'.
On the wider point of boosting revenues, this is a particularly important point. Not only do Newcastle need to strike new commercial agreements; the Magpies also need to keep hold of these partners in the years to come and ensure the club get the best possible deals when these contracts are reviewed and potentially extended.
