Newcastle keeper Loris Karius' famous girlfriend Diletta Leotta set to commentate on Wembley final

Sunday could be a very interesting one for Newcastle United player Loris Karius, with him set to get the nod in goal at Wembley and his famous girlfriend Diletta Leotta ready to commentate on the game for the TV channel she works for.

A week ago, Karius, who made the switch to NUFC from Liverpool last year, wouldn't have even been in the frame to get between the sticks for the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United but that all changed after Nick Pope's red card at St James' Park as the Magpies lost 2-0 to Liverpool on Saturday night.

With Pope's sending off seeing him automatically banned from playing in the final and second choice keeper Martin Dubravka cup tied, having played for Man United, that left Eddie Howe with the choice of Karius or Mark Gillespie as shot stopper for Wembley.

As Newcastle aim to win their first bit of major silverware since 1969, it's looking likely that it will be Karius who plays in goal on Sunday. And, as well as being there to cheer him on, his other half Diletta, a TV presenter with well over eight million followers on Instagram, has given an indication that she will be working on the day.

Having enjoyed a break in Milan with Karius, before he headed back to Newcastle for training, Dileta uploaded a post onto her Instagram story on Thursday which hinted that she'd be coming to London to work with streaming service DAZN, the station she works for to host Series A and Champions League coverage.

DAZN describes itself as 'the first global pure sport live and on-demand streaming service' and has been offering Carabao Cup games to viewers in Canada and Europe this season.

Diletta uploaded a photo of her alongside DAZN colleagues with the caption 'Missione Wembley: Work In Progress' hinting that she will be in attendance on Sunday afternoon in a professional capacity as well as hoping Loris has a great game for Newcastle.
