Graham Potter could be able to build his ideal Chelsea squad ahead of the January transfer window by allowing one of his attackers to leave. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has been encouraged to sign both Christian Pulisic and Blues target Leandro Trossard as the Magpies look to extend their lead over the west Londoners in the race for top-four.
Chelsea currently sit eighth in the Premier League and nine points behind third-placed Newcastle. The January transfer window is set have a huge impact on which side clinches Champions League qualification this season.
So, the Blues must decide whether handing over Pulisic and signing Trossard would be advantageous. Speaking to Football Insider, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has tipped Newcastle to snatch both players from Chelsea's grasp.

"I would go for Trossard [at Newcastle]," he said. "He has been brilliant this season. I have watched him close-hand twice this season when doing the Brighton games and I was really, really impressed. I do not see why Newcastle could not take both Trossard and Pulisic into the squad. They would both enhance the squad. If it was to be one or the other I’d go for Trossard though."
Pulisic was heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge in the summer after falling out of favour under former boss Thomas Tuchel. But, even under new management with Graham Potter in the dugout, he's struggled to nail down a place in the Blues' starting eleven.
The United States international, who sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expiring in 2024, has featured 13 times for the west Londoners in the Premier League this season, directly contributing towards just two goals. As a result, he was stripped of the USMNT captaincy ahead of the World Cup.
Despite this, Pulisic has impressed for Gregg Berhalter's side in Qatar and courted the interest of several Premier League sides with an assist versus Wales and a man of the match display against England. With the American increasingly likely to leave, Italian outlet TuttoJuve claim that Chelsea will be looking for a fee in the region of £30million.
In return for Pulisic, the Blues have been monitoring Brighton star Trossard. And, the Belgium international has even admitted that he would gladly follow former boss Potter to west London.
According to 90min, the Seagulls are demanding £25million for Trossard, who is out of contract at the end of the season. If Chelsea are to play their cards right and in accordance with the advice given to Newcastle then Potter could garner around £55million which can be spent elsewhere.
