Newcastle fashion tech firm Zoa Rental teams up with For The Creators

Newcastle fashion rental tech firm Zoa Rental has teamed up with a South East clothing website aimed at pregnant women and new mums.

Hampshire-based For The Creators, a rental and resale platform for new mothers and mums-to-be looking to save money, has appointed Zoa Rental to power its rental service. The site was launched in lockdown in 2020 by Lyndsay Mason, a new mum who was shocked by the clothing waste produced as she bought clothing she wouldn’t wear for very long - while also not wanting to compromise on her love of fashion.

The platform curates clothing for pregnancy and breastfeeding mums, with brands available to hire including Sezane, Whistles and Isabella Oliver, as well as new and independent brands. Items are chosen for their versatility in accommodating fluctuating sizes, bumps and breastfeeding. Now, having seen a huge jump in site users, Ms Mason has enlisted Zoa Rental, the white-label rental-as-a-service offer which was last year spun out of the leading rental platform Hirestreet, and which already powers the likes of French Connection Rental, Rathbones Tailor, Cameron Ross, Blanqo, Taite Ro, Cloan and DCEY.

Ms Mason said: “We have seen huge growth with a 350% increase in site users the past twelve months and a 158% increase in sales over the past six months. We need a robust and reliable platform that will scale with us and provide our customers with an intuitive and reliable user journey. What we love about Zoa Rental is that it was built by a team who own and operate their own rental platform, Hirestreet. They understand our needs and are ambitious in their development roadmap to make rental as seamless and as mainstream as possible.”

To coincide with the Zoa launch, For The Creators has launched a rental subscription service which will enable their customers to rent a number of items on rotation each month, enabling them to make further savings.

Zoa Rental founder Isabella West added: “The rental industry is booming and is forecast to double in size in 2023 alone and renting maternity outfits just makes sense. We love working with brilliant founders, we are excited to support Lyndsey and her team through this next stage of growth.”

Meanwhile, River Island has joined the roster of high street brands to enlist Hirestreet to rent its clothing. The company has launched its premium party collection ‘Nine’ on Hirestreet. The city centre-based platform – launched four years ago in response to the rise in fast and throwaway fashion – now ships out thousands of outfits on a daily basis from the likes of M&S, Oasis, Nobody’s Child, Lipsy and Decathlon.

Ms West added: “We are delighted that River Island has joined our family of trusted and loved high-street brands at Hirestreet. Launching just in time for the party season the ‘Nine’ collection is the perfect collection for the festive season.”
