Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has suggested another spending spree could be on the cards in the upcoming transfer window. Elsewhere, Allan Saint-Maximin has thanked Wor Flags for their display of support in Wednesday's victory over Crystal Palace
Here are your Newcastle United headlines for April 21:
Summer vision
Eddie Howe has hinted at a summer shopping spree at Newcastle United after the club edged towards the Premier League's top 10 and hit the magic 40 point mark.
The Toon head coach invited Yasir Al-Rumayyan into the dressing room to party with players, with Newcastle's top-flight status all but secure.
Howe has five more matches to focus on before the summer transfer window will dominate the headlines across the world's media. Howe has been guarded on talk of recruitment so far, but knows that key talks with the chairman are required moving forward.
Howe's pride
Eddie Howe has spoken of his pride after emulating Sir Bobby Robson's feat of winning six home games in a row in the Premier League. Not since 2004 had the Magpies pulled off such an achievement at St James' Park.
The 1-0 win over Crystal Palace moves Newcastle up to 11th spot in the Premier League and they could even sneak into the top 10 this weekend with a win over Norwich City. Speaking after the game Howe was elated but typically didn't want to get too carried away.
Targett's relegation verdict
Matt Targett has admitted he always felt Newcastle United were "too good" to go down this season. Having joined the club in January from Aston Villa on loan, Targett now feels United are safe after hitting the "Magic 40" mark.
Burn's transfer surprise
Newcastle United's defensive revelation Dan Burn has spoken about his surprise when discovering the levels of positivity in the dressing room following his £13million move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Burn has been United's kingpin at the back in the second half of the season and is yet to taste defeat at St James' Park. Although, despite getting the move of his dreams to his boyhood club he admits he had to quickly lock into his A-game and get on with business.
Saint-Maximin's message
Allan Saint-Maximin has thanked Newcastle United fans for their support after Wor Flags' Gallowgate End display against Crystal Palace. The Magpies winger has struggled in recent weeks and has been the subject of criticism online.
Nonetheless, the Frenchman has played his part throughout the campaign despite his recent struggles. The 25-year-old played a huge part in the winner at Wolves with a deft nutmeg that sent Joelinton on his way to win Newcastle a penalty, and the former Nice winger has chipped in with vital goals.
Wor Flags unveiled a tifo in support of Saint-Maximin before kick-off at St. James Park last night. Speaking after the game, he said: "Wow. What a game. Six wins at home. That's for you. Thank you very much for that, I didn't expect that.
Ghodoussi celebration
Mehrdad Ghodoussi has told Newcastle United supporters last night's win over Crystal Palace took the Magpies to the magic 40 points, usually needed for Premier League survival. It's a remarkable achievement from a side that endured their worst start to a campaign in their Premier League history, rock bottom at the time of Eddie Howe's arrival.
A nine game unbeaten run propelled the Magpies towards safety, combined with an impressive January transfer window, and now Newcastle supporters can look to the future. The PIF takeover at St. James' Park made the Toon the richest club in world football.
With grand promises of competing for the Premier League title and a return to European football, Newcastle supporters can once again dream big. Ghodoussi has been a regular on Twitter, interacting with Magpies supporters since arriving on Tyneside.
Richards' transfer warning
Micah Richards claims Newcastle United players will raise their game over the fear of being replaced at St. James' Park. The PIF takeover on Tyneside made the Magpies the richest club in world football and the club has been linked with a whole host of European superstars.
The January arrivals of Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes were the two statement signings of the window, whilst the likes of Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Matt Targett gave the Magpies ranks a much needed boost. The form of Eddie Howe's side since the turn of the year is only bettered by Liverpool and the January signings have played a major part in that turn around.
With Newcastle all but safe from relegation, their focus in the dressing room will switch to securing a top-half finish, something the black and white faithful would have laughed off around Christmas. Supporters have every right to feel excited about the nature of the upcoming window with it set to be one for the history books.
Eddie Howe has played down any talk of a 'revolutionary' window, but the fact that there's set to be investment into the playing squad is enough to get supporters on the edge of their seats. There's just five games remaining for the current 25-man squad to prove their worth to the Magpies head coach.
Speaking on Match of The Day, Richards gave an insight into his spell with Manchester City, knowing that better players could arrive at any given moment.
