The full list of candidates standing in Newcastle at next month’s local elections has been confirmed.
Voters will go to the polls on May 4 to elect new councillors in each of the city’s 26 wards. Labour council leader Nick Kemp is seeking re-election to his Byker seat, while there are two spots up for grabs in the battleground area of North Jesmond.
For the first time, voters will be required to show a form of photographic ID at their polling station before they are allowed to cast a ballot. The deadline to register to vote is Monday, April 17, and applications for a postal vote must be made by Tuesday, April 18.
