Newcastle boss Eddie Howe pinpoints reason for Magpies' downfall in Everton defeat

Eddie Howe says Newcastle United lacked "rhythm" during their 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park. It's now back to back defeats for Howe and his players now jet off to Dubai for warm weather training in the Middle East.

Their next game is on April 3 at Tottenham Hotspur, but Howe was disappointed with his team's performance om Merseyside. He said: "In the first half we were good, controlled the game.

"The only thing that was missing in that period was a goal... I think that was missing the entire game for us today. We got into some good positions but the normal rhythm wasn't there."

When asked what the problem was overall at Everton, Howe said: "It is very disappointing. I don't know why that second half was lacking in that bit of quality. It was our game to win and we didn't grab that opportunity."
