Irish bookmaker Paddy Power is offering 25/1 odds on the latest foal of legendary horse Quevega to be a future Cheltenham Festival winner.
Superstar racehorse Quevega galloped her way into the history books back in 2014 when she made it six back-to-back wins in the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival – a feat unmatched before or since.
The bay broodmare, who cost the bookies millions over the years and even had a bar named after her at Prestbury Park, welcomed a colt foal, by sire Walk In The Park, into the world earlier this week.
The horse, nicknamed 'Weevega' by the bookmaker, is being tipped to follow in the footsteps of his mother. The foal is also a full brother of Facile Vega, who is poised to take Cheltenham by storm in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper.
A Paddy Power spokesperson said: “We’re really upping the ante with our ante-post Cheltenham markets on this one, but we make ‘Weevega’, as we have dubbed him, an even money shot to win any race under rules when he grows up.
“More importantly, he’s a healthy 25/1 to emulate his mother, and hopefully his full brother, Facile Vega (also by Walk In The Park), to win a race at the Cheltenham Festival."
