The Mexico City Diablos Rojos (Red Devils) defeated the New York Yankees in the Bronx Bombers' return to the Mexican capital.
In a packed Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium, the Diablos had former Yankee Robinson Canó as the player of the game and won over the Yankees 4-3.
At 41, Canó hit a home run and drove in two runs to defeat his former team in a game that raised many expectations, as the last time the Yankees and the Diablos played in Mexico City was in 1968.
On that occasion, with the legendary Mickey Mantle, the Mexican side won the first game of the series 5-3, but lost the second game 9-1.

For the Yankees, outfielder Óscar González went 4-3, while Carlos Narváez drove in two runs in the ninth inning in what seemed to be a rally for the visitors, who scored three times and aimed for a comeback. However, the tying run was stranded at second base.
For the Diablos, former Cincinnati Red Trevor Bauer pitched three scoreless innings and struck out Anthony Volpe, Giancarlo Stanton, and Jose Rojas. 8, while the loser was Tanner Tully, who opened the game for the Yankees. Monday (March 25) will be the closing game of the series.
