A number of people have been shot in what appears to be a mass shooting at a New York City train station, according to reports.
It is believed explosive packages have also been recovered from the scene in the Brooklyn area of the US city.
Officials have said several people have been hurt after a gunman opened at around 8.30am at the 36th Street station for the D, N, R lines in Sunset Park, report Mirror Online.
A New York City police spokesperson told Reuters that officers were responding to the scene, but did not have details on the number of individuals shot.
It is understood that preliminary information indicates a suspect was dressed in construction gear.
A photo from the scene showed people tending to bloodied passengers lying on the floor of the station.
New York City police said they were responding to reports of people wounded either by gunfire or an explosion.
Trains servicing that station were delayed during the morning rush hour.
