New York Lt. Gov. Delgado Urges Biden To Step Aside

Joe Biden U.S. President Biden visits Milwaukee

New York Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado has made a bold move by calling on President Biden to gracefully step aside from the upcoming race, a decision that has put him in opposition to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who continues to support the president.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Delgado commended Biden for his achievements during his presidency, particularly highlighting his victory over Donald Trump in the 2020 election. Delgado expressed his concerns about the perceived threat posed by Trump, which led him to align himself with millions of Americans, including New Yorkers, who share apprehensions about Biden's ability to effectively compete against Trump in the next election.

Delgado emphasized the importance of not disregarding legitimate worries about elected officials being forthright with the American public, labeling such dismissals as misguided and perilous. He advocated for selecting a nominee who could inspire and mobilize Americans committed to safeguarding democracy, emphasizing the necessity of choosing a candidate deemed capable of winning.

On the other hand, Gov. Hochul remains steadfast in her support for Biden. Despite concerns raised about the president's mental acuity following a lackluster debate performance, Hochul, along with several other governors, met with Biden recently. In a tweet last week, the governor affirmed Biden's determination to succeed in the upcoming election, underscoring the critical importance of the November polls.
