New York Giants star Adoree' Jackson believes Sunday's win over the Green Bay Packers in London could be a landmark point in the team's season. The Giants produced a resilient display to beat the Packers and progress to 4-1 for the season.
The Giants went into the game as heavy underdogs, with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers tipped to improve on their impressive start to the season. But thanks to the impressive work of the defence late in the game - with Xavier McKinney tipping two Rodgers passes in the fourth quarter - the Giants claimed victory.
Brian Daboll's team are now 4-1 going into next week's game against the Bears, and are quietly emerging as a potential playoff contender.
The Giants flew into London on Thursday, giving themselves a quick turnaround before Sunday's game. And Jackson explained exclusively to Mirror Sport how the trip provided the perfect chance for some team bonding.
"London's cool," he told The Mirror. "I feel like we don't get to experience it as we would like. We stayed up, the plane ride was crazy, flew in Thursday, Friday we went straight to practice, don't really have too much time.
"I feel like it's a nice town, for us to be where we were at, got to come to London and experience it a little bit. I want to come back in the off-season and enjoy it a little bit more.
"I feel like as a group, for us to be able to bond the way we've bonded. Jokes, story time, it's just great when you get trips like this because you get to be a tight-knit group, it's all about us, we forget the outside, even more relevant when we come across the world because it's really just us. To be able to bond the way we did, then come out here and get this W, it showed.
"We didn't actually think about it until after the game we had last week. We played the Bears, that's when we got into it at the start.
"We don't even get the schedule for the week until after the game. We knew we were coming to London, but our mind was focused on one week at a time. We didn't get our schedule and figure everything out until the Monday."
The Giants will now play host to the Chicago Bears next Sunday, and Jackson insisted he and his team-mates won't take a lot of time to celebrate the win before they start preparing for the next game.
"It's on to next week," he continued. "Records don't matter in this league. You can see teams that haven't won a game having - I don't wanna say the game of their lives - but they play good ball. Everyone is professional, everyone gets paid to do this at a high level.
"We never take an opponent lightly, no matter what their record is, no matter how good you are, at the end of the day you take things the same, go out there fast and try to compete."
