New York City Police Commissioner Edward A. Caban has stepped down after a federal investigation surrounding potential corruption in New York City's government.

In a memo shared with the NYPD and obtained by Bloomberg, Caban did not discuss the possible corruption investigation, but instead mentioned it was a "difficult decision to resign" after "recent developments."
