New video reveals Boris Johnson was hit with fresh boos as he left St Paul's service

A fresh video of embattled Prime Minister Boris Johnson being showered with more jeers as he made his way out of St Paul's Cathedral has emerged.

The under-fire Tory leader can be heard being howled out of the iconic building, hours after he was subjected to stick on his arrival earlier this morning.

But as the clip shows, it wasn't just on his way into St Paul's that the PM was forced to listen to the British public's views on his leadership.

Crowds could be heard booing with loud whistling as Mr Johnson walked up the steps with his wife Carrie by his side.

Incredibly - despite the overwhelming evidence suggesting otherwise - Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries determinedly stressed he was actually just cheered as he walked in.

She has been roundly mocked for claiming everyone misheard what was actually happening.

"There were far, far more cheers, but that doesn’t make a good headline does it," she insisted on Twitter.

But she was swiftly scolded by social media users following her head-scratching claim.

In one brutal response, author Jim Felton said: "Genuine question; are you aware of the fact that other people can hear sounds."

Now a new video has emerged of the PM leaving the iconic building (@MarinaPurkiss/Twitter)

He later uploaded a photo of Prince Louis with his hands over his ears on the royal balcony shouting to himself during the fly-past and captioned it: "Nadine Dorries hearing Boris booed."

Another twitter user told her: "They were just shouting Boooooooris!"

A poll following Mr Dorries tweet was then taken, with 98 per cent of the 8,000 voters saying he was booed.

A BBC commentator said: "The Prime Minister arriving with his wife. There is quite a lot of booing. A substantial amount."

They added: "We have not heard that for any other VIP guests, that is fair to say."

The PM was also heckled and booed more as he left the service, with one person saying “f*** off Boris”.

A number of figures took to social media pointing out the jeers, with broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire tweeting: "The Prime Minister arriving with wife Carrie at St Paul’s Cathedral for the Platinum Thanksgiving Service is booed by some in the crowd."

More than 400 people later witnessed the Prime Minister read from the New Testament at the service focused on celebrating the monarch’s 70-year reign.

Quoting a passage from Phillipians 4:8, Mr Johnson said: "Whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable … think about these things.”

The booing comes after months of controversy for the PM and the Tory government following a number of rule-breaking Number 10 parties during lockdown.
