Time to see those moves. (Credit: Bandai Namco)

There's still no word on when DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is coming out. However, we've been getting an idea on what to expect courtesy of new videos. Back in January of this year for example, we got to see a video where Son Goku and Prince Vegeta were going at it head-to-head.

This time around, Bandai Namco Entertainment America has released a new gameplay showcase video with none other than Jun Furutani guiding us to the action.

You can watch the video below:

Check Out the Combat

The latest video gives us a look at the full UI gameplay and even showcases some of the fan-favorite mechanics like Impact Actions, Dragon Dashes, and Beam Clashes, to name a few. The video also provides a peek at new mechanics like Short Dashes, which allow for explosive bursts of speed that can then be used to come up with openings. Another one is the Revenge Counters, which allow players to absorb the attack of an opponent and then return it to them.

There's no question that players can look forward to returning mechanics and even seeing new ones. There's also the lightning-paced combat, large destructible environments, and the stunning visuals.

New Playable Characters

Aside from getting a look at the action and combat, the new trailers also reveal new playable characters which include:

  • Super Trunks
  • Master Roshi, Max Power
  • Nappa
  • Burter
  • Jeice
  • Super Saiyan Broly (Full Power)
  • Hit
  • Super Saiyan Kale (Berserk)
  • Toppo
  • Dyspo
  • Kakunsa

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is developed by Spike Chunsoft, the same team behind the original BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series. The game brings the franchise forward to a new generation by making use of what the Unreal Engine 5 has to offer. Indeed, this upcoming title is set to push the envelope when it comes to the gameplay. In addition, the game also brings the series back to its Japanese naming convention. For those who can remember, the original DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI was actually titled as DRAGON BALL Z: Sparking.

The gravity-defying fights in the game are able to capture signature destructive powers and Ki abilities of the Dragon Ball characters.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is launching exclusively to PlayStation5, Xbox Series X, and PC through Steam.
