New vegan burger joint to open in Wapping Wharf this month - and owners are giving away free dishes

Wapping Wharf's family of independent and quirky businesses will be expanding again at the end of the month. VeBurger, a vegan burger joint, will open their first permanent location in Cargo 2 on Monday, May 29, and their first 100 customers will be handed free food.

Bosses say their plant-based offerings will be some of the cheapest in Bristol, with burgers starting at just £2.99. The owners wanted to created a meal that doesn't compromise on taste but is sitll better for animals and our planet.

Co-founders Dillona and Cindy created VeBurger early last year (2022), as a delivery service. But it was so popular that they soon started searching for the perfect spot to open their first permanent venue.

Talking about the inspiration behind the business, Dillona said: “We struggled to find good, tasty plant-based alternatives which were affordable; something which has become even more relevant during this financial crisis. As such, the idea came to us to try and deliver exactly that in Bristol; a vegan restaurant that is tasty, sustainable and affordable.”

There will be a variety of different options for customers to choose from and they won’t have to fork out a fortune. With prices starting at just £2.99 for a classic hamburger, Dillona and Cindy want the focus to be on affordability and sustainability. Customers will be able to choose from meal deals, combo boxes and bundles, with a wide range of sides on offer as well as the burgers, including their signature ‘Rooster range’ chicken burger.

Going on to talk about their plans for the new opening, Dillona said: “We love the vibrant atmosphere in the Wapping Wharf community. We think that Wapping Wharf is the perfect place for a start up such as ourselves and we know that our customers will love the scenery and feeling the community provides you with.

“We’re very excited to join and be part of the growing WW community. We’re excited to meet our neighbours and offer the WW regulars a great plant-based dining option.”

The new restaurant will be open seven days a week between 11:45 am to 10 pm, perfect for those looking for a new lunch or dinner spot.
