New twist in Fyre Festival saga as comeback event postponed

  • Fyre Festival 2, organised by convicted fraudster Billy McFarland, has been postponed indefinitely just weeks before it was scheduled to kick off.

  • The festival, to be held in Isla Mujeres, Mexico from the end of May, faced controversy from the start, with local officials denying knowledge of the event.
  • McFarland, who served four years in prison for fraud relating to the disastrous 2017 Fyre Festival, was attempting a comeback with this event.
  • Tickets ranged from US$1,400 to $25,000, with premium packages costing up to $1.1 million.
