The search is on for new tenants to take over a traditional Nottinghamshire pub that's getting a facelift. The Rose and Crown, in Cotgrave, has been closed for several months but improvements should be finished shortly.
Described as friendly and relaxed by customers, the pub in Main Road, was also praised for its beer. Owners Stonegate Pub Partners are now looking for someone to take charge behind the bar after "heavily investing" in the venue.
One of the improvements is a permanent heated alfresco area. Outside is getting a revamp, with a pergola at the front and another in the rear garden, decorated by festoon lighting and AstroTurf. Post and rope fencing will also be added to the existing car park.
Stonegate estimated that the pub has a potential turnover of £466,000 a year. A spokesperson for Stonegate Pub Partners said:" We are currently investing in the Rose and Crown and taking applications for the tenancy of the business. It is a great opportunity in this popular town. Work has started and due to finish in the next few weeks."

The listing says: "The pub has a great presence on the high street with passing trade, visitors and locals from the expanding village." It goes on to mention comfortable seating both in the bar and restaurant for around 80 covers and a kitchen that will be enhanced so food can be served as part of the refurbishment.
"The front of the pub is a great area for drinkers and diners to 'watch the world go by' in the village centre. To the rear accessed from the dining room is a large beer garden with scope for more than 50 covers if desired with an enclosed grass, ideal for young families."
