New tech base for company helping vehicle fleets clean up their emissions

A business which provides technology for low carbon freight has moved to a new base.

Sustainability specialist Clean Air Power, whose clients have included Ford, DHL and Mercedes, has moved its technical development team to the DigiJet Technical Centre in Old Dalby Business Park, north Leicestershire.

Clean Air Power works with clients to decarbonise their transport towards net zero emissions. It provides technology and systems that improve performance, and cut the impact of public and private transport on the environment. Its tech improves the performance of existing engines and helps its customers switch to fuels such as compressed and liquid natural gas, biomethane, biogas and hydrogen.

The new, bigger premises will allow it to set up more advanced test facilities and develop its prototype line to produce more net zero technology. Up to 10 full-time staff will work at the facility.

The company recently secured funding for several new commercial and government-backed projects, including on behalf of the Department for Transport and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The move coincides with a similar relocation for Clean Air Power’s US team, who have switched to a larger premises in Kernersville, North Carolina, from California. The company’s assembly plant is based in the US and builds products for customers including Daimler, Renk and Volvo.

Managing director Dan Skelton said: “We’re all thrilled with the move to our new tech centre, which will give us the space and room to continue to grow. Our new premises is in an ideal, central location in the heart of the UK and East Midlands.

“These are very exciting times for Clean Air Power, as our technology further supports the drive for net zero emission transport. With sustainability at the top of so many agendas, we are confident we can make a real difference with the innovation we will deliver at our new home.”

Clean Air Power’s products include its DigiJet injectors, which can help replace diesel and other potentially damaging fossil fuels with more sustainable fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia.
