A brand new store has opened up in Mansfield town centre that sells hundreds of toys as well as many other items. Tina Evison, 47, and her partner Richard opened One Gift To Another in Toothill lane, on April 1.
The pair got the keys to the property, which was formerly Mother Earth eco refill store, on February 17 and have since put in their hard work to open a toy and gift store.
“I think it’s amazing,” Tina said. “We’ve got everything, we have tried to make a variety for girls and boys, all ages. We’ve got perfumes, gift sets for the ladies and gentlemen. Ornaments, gifts for the elderly. It’s not just toys. "

The couple also took over the family business Regency Dry Cleaners, in Mansfield town centre, which has been open for nine years, one year ago. The gift ornaments, now in the new toy store, were previously sold in the dry cleaners.
Both Tina and Richard thought they would branch out and create something new for local people in Mansfield.
Tina continued: “We’ve got Regency Cleaners, that’s on Regent street and that’s a dry cleaners. We are the only dry cleaners in Mansfield that does it in house. We thought as we were doing our research, bring the ornaments here, and the gifts.
"We looked around and realised there weren't many toy shops in Mansfield. You’ve got B&M, Smiths, Wilkos but that’s about it really.
“We thought we’d go into the toy section and try to see what we could do. We’ve got two rooms upstairs with toys; they're all full. The cars, we’ve got a full range of scooters and bikes upstairs, we’ve got the little toddler bikes, the handle quad bikes for parents.
“We’ve done it all by ourselves, the refurbishment, me and Richard have done it. We haven’t had any help other than the other staff.
“We’ve got pocket money toys that vary from £1.99 and I think the most expensive toy will be the electric car. We’ve tried to compete, but we can’t compete with Smiths, we’ve tried to keep the prices low so we can get people in the door.
“For the local people who haven’t got cars and can’t get to Smiths, we are here and if we haven’t got the stock we will try to get it in stock for them."
The store offers everything from toys of popular children's characters, gift ornaments of TV favourites, Only Fools and Horses and Dr Who, there's a massive range that shoppers can find.
"We’ve tried to cater for everyone in such a tiny space," Tina added.
"We get deliveries every week, we try to keep up with the fashion of the new toys. You don’t realise how much has changed, since my children have all grown up now. Getting out there, getting us on the map.
“We are a family run business, all children are welcome and dogs are welcome. I understand that pushchairs can’t go upstairs but we are happy to watch it whilst parents go upstairs. Or if you can’t get upstairs we will bring what you’re looking for down. Feel free to just come and have a look.
“I think it's a happy little shop.”
Whilst the shop has been 'quiet' since opening, Tina is hoping the store will take off, and if so, they hope to branch out to a bigger unit. One Gift To Another is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am until 3pm.
