A new mod for Stardew Valley is set to introduce an exciting new feature to the popular life simulation RPG.
Created by Nexus Mods user "orangeblossom," the mod adds a chocolate-making system to the game.
Stardew Valley is a farm simulation game developed by a single creator, Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone. It was released back in February 2016 on Windows.
In the game, players take on the role of a character who inherits a rundown farm from their late grandfather in the setting which shares the same name as the game itself.
A nonlinear game, Stardew Valley allows players to grow crops, raise livestock, fish, cook, mine, and forage.
Additionally, players can socialize with the townspeople, including options to marry and have children. The game also supports online play, accommodating up to eight players together.
The game is one of the best-selling video games of all time, having sold over 30 million copies by February 2024.
Chocolate-Making Mod for Stardew Valley
The new chocolate mod adds several features, including two new plants, five artisan machines, various ingredients, and a selection of chocolate recipes, allowing players to craft treats using the new crop of beans.
The "Chocolate Valley" mod features various chocolate recipes.
One of these is the "Hot Chocolate" variant, which provides a boost of +50 max energy and +1 speed.
On the other hand, the White and Milk Chocolate Hearts offer +2 Farming, +2 Foraging, and +10 Magnetic Radius.
ConcernedApe's Next Game Will Be Chocolate-Themed
The new chocolate mod arrives just before the highly anticipated follow-up game from ConcernedApe, entitled Haunted Chocolatier.
This game will be Barone's first release since Stardew Valley and was initially announced in October 2021.
While details about the title are still sparse, there is currently no set release date.
ConcernedApe spilled a few details about the project in an interview back in December 2022, admitting that "it's gonna be a while" before it drops.
"It's going well, but it's a big game. I have a big, ambitious vision for it. It's a little bit daunting, the amount of work that it's going to be," the 36-year-old said.
"But Stardew Valley took me four-and-a-half years; I've been working on Haunted Chocolatier for about a year and a half or maybe two years now."
