New serviced apartments set to open on George Street

RÌGH Properties has started work on a new serviced apartment development on George Street in Edinburgh.

The RÌGH Residences comprise 27 apartments, ranging in scale from studios to penthouses, with many able to be interconnected to allow for larger group bookings.

Located at 71 George Street, the Grade A-listed property will have a glass structure added to the roof, creating a new floor which will house the penthouse apartments, while rooms on the first through fourth floors include original fixtures and fittings.

There will still be a commercial tenant on the ground floor, the details of which are still to be confirmed.

General manager David Grieve has said: "Our whole team is so looking forward to welcoming our first guests later this year.

"Each of the apartments have state of the art room management technology, which includes climate control and Sky TV to allow for guests to make the most of their stays, and each of the apartments will be furnished with a fully equipped kitchenette, giving flexibility and have plenty of room to relax and unwind.

"There will also be pet-friendly apartments available, a comfortable lounge space and we have partnered with some of our favourite local businesses so that our guests can enjoy the best of the capital."

The development is the largest-scale project yet for RÌGH Properties, which currently operates a number of other self-catering apartments in the centre of Edinburgh.
