New Scottish island music festival announces Primal Scream and Pretenders as headliners

A new festival taking place on a Scottish island has been announced for later this year, and headliners include Primal Scream and Pretenders.

Midnight Sun Weekender is a brand-new three day event taking place on Scotland's beautiful Outer Hebrides in Stornoway from May 25 to 27. It has been described as the UK’s "most idyllic" music event set to bring the "biggest names in rock" to the island.

Other big names set to appear at the festival include John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival in a UK festival exclusive, Edwyn Collins, Public Service Broadcasting, and Honeyblood.

It will be held at the historic Lews Castle near Stornoway, ending on the Saturday night to honour the island’s tradition of keeping the Sabbath.

Midnight Sun Weekender also marks a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the beautiful islands of Lewis and Harris. The island is home to wild mountains, immense white beaches, rugged coastlines and gorgeous lunar landscapes.

Co-founders Charlie Clark, Ian MacArthur, and Ariki Porteous have credited the festival's picturesque setting with booking some of rock's "biggest" names.

The weekender, which will mark the first major rock and pop event to grace the island, is open to all ages. Discounted tickets are available for children under 14 and teenagers under 18.

More information can be found on the Midnight Sun Weekender website.
