A new Poundland store is opening in Liverpool this week.
The new store at New Mersey Retail Park will be opening its doors for the first time on Saturday, October 8 at 9am. The site was previously occupied by a Marks and Spencer's clothing store.
Taking up over 12,000 square feet, the shop is around twice the size of a typical Poundland store and has been designed to offer customers a wide range of products to choose from. The store will employ 20 full and part-time colleagues.

The store will have a section dedicated to Poundland's clothing brand, PEP&CO. As well as womenswear, menswear and kidswear. It will also have a dedicated PEP&CO Home department featuring the latest 2022 ranges including kitchen storage options, faux plants, bathroom accessories and soft furnishings. The shop will also sell chilled and frozen food.
The investment in the new store marks a vote of confidence in Speke and the retail park which has undergone a multi-million pound redevelopment in recent years. Poundland's director of retail, Darren Kay, said: " Speke’s New Mersey Retail Park has undergone some big changes in the last few years and we’re very excited about being part of its future.
“We’re working hard to make sure it’s a store that Speke can be proud of and one that will show off Poundland at its best and put the spotlight on our PEP&CO ranges.
“It will offer customers the amazing range and value they have come to expect from Poundland and which is more important than ever when household budgets are under so much pressure."
Russell Hall, centre manager at New Mersey, said: "We're excited that Poundland has chosen New Mersey to open its latest store. From essential household supplies to the dedicated PEP&CO home department, it has a brilliant range of affordable products available to shoppers."
