Two artists have come together to open a pottery studio in Bedminster. Rosi Tooth and Jess Xuereb opened Wild Clay Studios at the weekend, and already their workshops teaching people how to make specific items have been popular.
The pair are each ceramicists and artists who exhibit and sell their own work, and have taken on and converted a former shop next door to the Three Lions pub on West Street. The venture had an opening launch event on Friday evening, and is now taking bookings to get involved in classes and workshops taught by the pair.
Co-founder Rosi is a ceramicist and illustrator, while Jess is a self-taught ceramicist who specialises in hand-built pottery. As well as a studio, gallery and shop, which opens every Saturday, the studio is also hosting workshops most afternoons and evenings.

“We specialise in providing an inclusive learning space for our students to explore their creative potential and develop their skills in the art of ceramics,” a spokesperson said. “We offer a variety of classes taught by experienced ceramists in all the essentials of pottery making and design.
“We believe that everyone should have access to art and the opportunity to explore their creative potential. With a variety of classes, workshops and events, Wild Clay Studios is the perfect place to hone your skills, learn something new, or just have fun,” they added.
“We offer a variety of different ceramics and illustration-based workshops taught by the co-founders Jess and Rosi. “Rosi is a ceramicist and illustrator who draws on her own experiences of being a woman and navigating life to create one-of-a-kind pieces that capture everyday moments in a graceful and humorous way.
“For the past few years, Jess has been honing her skills and creating beautiful, unique pieces. Jess is passionate about teaching and hosts pottery workshops for all skill levels,” they added.
