New Poll Reveals Concerns Over Biden's Health And Trump's Charges

Former U.S. President Trump's criminal trial on charges of falsifying business records continues in New York

A recent national poll conducted post the Biden-Trump presidential debate has shed light on voter sentiments regarding the candidates. The survey, encompassing 800 registered voters from July 7-9, highlighted concerns about Biden's ability to serve a second term due to mental and physical health issues. Approximately 80% of voters expressed worries about the 81-year-old's capabilities, while only 50% shared similar concerns about Trump, aged 78.

Despite the close race with Trump leading Biden 45% to 43%, the poll unveiled that 62% of Democratic voters desire a different candidate at the party's helm. Additionally, 58% of respondents displayed apprehensions about Trump facing felony charges in New York, including allegations related to the 2020 election.

Regarding the recent debate, 71% of voters claimed it had no impact on their candidate preference. Biden's lackluster performance at the June 27 debate prompted calls from some congressional Democrats for him to step down.

In a hypothetical matchup against Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump leads by a slim margin of 47% to 45%. Harris has been suggested as a potential replacement for Biden should he withdraw from the race.

The survey results underscore the complex dynamics at play in the current political landscape, with concerns about health, legal issues, and potential leadership changes shaping voter perceptions as the election season unfolds.
