Plans for a new plastic recycling facility which could create 60 new jobs could have revealed for a Nottinghamshire village.
An application on Gedling Borough Council's planning portal seeks permission to change the use of the truck dismantling depot site on Hollinwood Lane, Calverton, to a material recycling facility.
There would also be car parking area with disabled spaces and electric vehicle charging points if plans for the scheme are given the go-ahead.
Councillor Boyd Elliott, who represents Calverton for the Conservatives, said it is part of a wider investment in the area.
He said: "It is a quite impressive bit of kit and it is a huge investment of £10million.
"Plastic will be taken from around the county and will be stripped.
"The county is in need of it, definitely.
"It will also provide 60 extra jobs for the area."
The proposed new facility is for land situated near to Calverton tip.
Further details about the proposed development on Gedling Borough's planning portal are limited. However, the documents contact a letter form Nottinghamshire County council asking that the local authority accepts the correspondence as a formal consultation on the planning application.
Retired Ken Gaskill, 72, a retired joiner and steeplejack, of Collyer Road, said: "I'm all for it definitely.
"The plastic situation is well out of hand, it's turning up everywhere.
"We use the tip a lot, it's a god send.
"Calverton is only a village, any new job is good for a village like this.
"For anyone who doesn't drive it is on the door step."
